Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Gavin P — 12 Apr 2013
The general consensus is that the film's visuals and music warrant a viewing, but otherwise it's a lame attempt to emulate Star Wars. Personally, I like everything about this movie and don't really see the same problems everyone else does.
Sure, it's not a masterpiece, but hey, I really enjoyed it. Maybe it's the simple fact that the movie is pretty bold considering it's Disney, though you'd never know it by watching it (other than the cartoonish design of BOB & VINCENT).
I like the characters, performances, script, pacing, direction, music, effects, cinematography, the ambiguous ending... If you're a science fiction fan, or a Disney completionist, check it out.
