Review of The Black Dahlia (2006) by Matt D — 06 Jul 2009
Although not the best James Ellroy adap to hit the big screen - that is still the sublime L.A. Confidential, in my book - this is a gorgeously realised and gripping piece, with a fine cast. It benefits from helmer Brian De Palma's technical wizardry, but suffers from his failure to really explore the humanity of his characters.
