Review of The Black Dahlia (2006) by Buffy B — 31 Jul 2008
Brilliant directing by Brian DePalma, I really enjoyed the first and second acts. Aaron Eckhart was great and I felt cheated that he didn't have more screen time in favour of Josh Hartnett, who was in fact good.
Rose McGowan's cameo proved that she really cannot act, not even talk in a compelling or credible voice. The ending was weak, and I thought the family of Hilary Swank's character were a woeful addition.
This movie shouldn't have dealt wth such a dark subject matter, because the Eckhart and Hartnett plot was interesting enough. In addition the film was too long, but I really enjoyed the modern adaption of the film noir.
