Disney Classics Marathon - The Black Cauldron.
On the first viewing of this movie I was far from impressed. The second veiwing allows some qualities to be noticed however the film still feels like a disapointment.
Like Lady and the Tramp this film was made in the Cinemascope aspect ratio. This is perhaps the best thing about the movie. Despite the animation still in need of development the exploitation of the aspect ratio by the new animators is much better than that in Lady and the Tramp.
Storywise the actual plot had potential however the film is let down by having mediocre characters. There is little that stands out from the characters or story of this movie that could prompt a rapid reviewing.
Its not bad for a first attempt but it could have been a lot better.
