Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Trent C — 16 Jul 2007
A film that should have been a classic, but due to dark imagery and internal troubles at Disney it was not. I believe that Tim Burton left Disney's animation dept. while this was in development. It combines the 1st and 2nd book in the series, which means the book fans didn't care for it, and the people who didn't read the book thought it was dreck.
For me though, it's the best Disney film since the Aristocats. Great for the 8-13 year old crowd.
