Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Timothy S — 13 May 2008
I can see now why the Disney Company has tried to distance themselves from this movie. It lacked everything a good movie should have and was far too dark to be a Disney movie. The characters were two dimensional the dialogue was like listening to pipe leak and the story was drawn out and boring.
The film's only redeeming quality was the animation which was pleasant to look at and the character design wasn't half bad. The Black Cauldron joins Bedknobs and broom sticks as well as Robin Hood on the, "don't bother seeing list," of the Disney films.
