Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Tristan P — 01 Nov 2010
Not the best Disney movie. But it's kind of fun seeing something of theirs that's not as famous as Little Mermaid or Lion King. The dialogue is not particularly interesting (In fact, some of it sounds like it was written by a five-year old.
) which can also be said of the hero. But pretty much everything else shines. The best moments are the escape from the castle the first time round, an encounter with three witches with the gift of con-women, and the summoning of dead warriors.
Gurgi and Creeper as comic relief make this film more enjoyable and John Hurt does a really great job as the Horned King.
