Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by William L — 03 Apr 2012
Brought about in Disney's decline era, "The Black Cauldron" is without a strong script or fully-realized characters, but its powerful storytelling and overwhelming charisma (found in its combination of traditional animation and distinctive sound quality which, together, perfectly capture its medieval-fantasy approach) are managed well, creating an entirely wholesome film that succeeds through a child-like sense of simplicity.
