Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Mattias K — 16 Feb 2013
A beautifully animated film from a time when Disney still made movies in 2d. Although this was just before the era of Disney's breakthrough films it by all means has the same high quality animation.
It is a lot darker than many of Disney's films which is quite welcome but this movie has two fatal flaws which makes this film hard to enjoy, dreadful story telling and bad voice acting. Had there been a decent director who would have tweaked the story on board the movie might have been a master piece instead it is a flawed film with a lot of potential lost.
