Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Devon — 15 Apr 2009
A great villian, though not developed enough, voiced by John Hurt and fantastic animation and music. The story feels a bit week and childlike but the movie feels more adultish. Seems like it would be more fit to be an anime film in some respect.
Definitely darker and more intense than I expected for a Disney film. Still it was worth the watch and was intriguing since it wasn't the usual Disney fare like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast.
The plot could have been deepened a bit and the characters established and flushed out a lot more but still good.
