Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Garrett R — 27 Sep 2010
I watched this movie for nostalgic reasons, and I now wish I could UN-watch it. How does the cauldron's magic work? Are those witches supposed to be evil, or just annoying? Why is Gurgi's life so important? Where did the magic sword get its magic? Aaaargh! I realize this 25th DISNEY animated feature comes from a year when their films were at rock-bottom, but at least convince me they didn't simply throw this together so they could show the cool effects of steam coming out of a cauldron.
