Review of The Black Cauldron (1985) by Sookie R — 04 May 2011
Messy, chaotic, seriously flawed, weirdly disturbing, deliciously grotesque and genuinely terrifying; this is a nightmare of a movie, in more ways than one, that oddly enough comes together as it manages to surprisingly become a satisfying whole.
The animation, also, is astoundingly beautiful. Creepy and terrifically ambitious, this is the most fascinating and darkly wondrous of all of Disney's pictures.
