Review of The Birth of a Nation (2016) by Michael B — 31 Oct 2016
I went into this movie seeing it because I felt it was important to but not expecting it to affect me. After it ended I was unable to move for a moment and walking around amongst people of color and whites as equals felt powerful.
I understand those who skipped the movie because of Nate's past. However, if you are a Christian or claim to be accept that he is a reformed man.
It is unfortunate that people will miss out on this film or not get to appreciate its importance. And I hope the reports of theaters not selling tickets to the movie are untrue or at least limited occurrences.
