Review of The Birth of a Nation (2016) by Terry A — 06 Oct 2016
Finally a movie outside of Roots that will find its place in both American and African american history. More of a truer depiction of American persecution that help initiate change for a greater Country than Hollywoods typical shuck and jive, whitewashing and entertainment for some jumbled up together just to sell tickets.
Nate Parker has just pioneered how the correct story will be told in future films. Congratulations Nate, this movie will be a to watch in the Annals of American History. And to think I almost didn't see it because I thought it would be another typical Americanized "slave movie".
