Review of The Birth of a Nation (2016) by Dean W — 07 Oct 2016
First rate acting, cinematography, production values. The actual rebellion and the aftermath could have been given more screen time with more sustained violence to give the audience a more complete build up and release of tension and to satisfy viewers appetite for graphic horror and violence in the era of The Walking Dead and the 300.
Finally, the aftermath of the rebellion could have been expanded on a little more to weigh or debate the moral complexity of what happened.
