A MUST SEE!!!

The story of Nat Turner, and others who were besmirched and relegated to the dung holes of fabricated history, must be told again and again, and still again. Despite the little that history has left us of this man, and the accusations of evil and mental imbalance, let us not forget that he was indeed human. Suffering amongst other humans, the indignant atrocities and depravities of bondage in slavery. This movie shows that humanity in him. His firm belief in his religion, the love of his family. The religion that was put upon him, that, along with the evils and dehumanizing of forced servitude, may have been his captors' worst mistake. Now we understand why it was a death sentence for a slave to learn to read.

Nat could not reconcile the words he was forced to preach, with the horrors he witnessed. The more in depth he grew with his religion, the more he understood, and the more bitter and biting the truth became. Nat was not truly a man who was lost, but the way became ever clearer through the word. Perhaps for the first time, he truly understood. He saw the light. He had had enough. He was called. And he answered.

Who dares to say that freedom is wrong? Who dares to say that fighting back is evil? How can you call upon the word of the lord, and yet condemn it in the same breath?

There are two conflicting sets of scriptures...one for those who have power, and one to use against those who do not.

Do yourself a favor...go see this movie.
