Sadly, despite the potential to have a deep and compelling and disturbing indictment of slavery dramatized through the disturbing tale of Nat Turner's sudden slaughter in 1831 Virginia, Parker's movie veers from historical depth and fact to create one of the most comically inaccurate and silly second halfs in cinematic history.
