Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Dustin D — 05 Jun 2013
Pretty much the most racist thing I've ever seen, especially the final act. The movie is still a masterpiece. Almost every shot is beautifully composed, the Civil War battles and assassination of Lincoln are wonderfully staged, and it is one of the most important films in cinema history for good reason.
