Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Jason E — 21 Jul 2014
When watching really old films, I try to put my expectations for special effects and storyline and such aside, but it didn't work. Even aside from the extreme racism that the plot revolves around, the [silent] film is so incredibly boring.
Yes, the parallel shots were innovative at the time, but watching a KKK member ride on a horse for 10 minutes isn't exactly the most exciting thing in the world.
