Review of The Birdcage (1996) by Jess M — 10 Dec 2008
LOL. That's what you do the entire film. Robin Williams shows why he's comedically gifted, and Nathan Lane is the soul of it all. Even those who are homophobic or squeamish about love between two men will find themselves wetting their pants during the dinner scene.
I nearly did, and I don't actively seek films with homosexual themes. But this film can't even be considered a gay movie, it's just damn funny. And in the end, what else do you want? Mike Nichols once again, the most flexible director there is today.
