Review of The Birdcage (1996) by Jonathan B — 17 Aug 2014
I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a great story, good laughs, and a wonderful cast! The Dinner Scene at the House, with the Senator and his wife as the honored guests, has to rank as one of the best laugh trips of all time.
Hank Azaria is perfect as the "houseboy" and the menu offering of a peasant soup was certainly a stroke of genius. Just thinking about the serving bowls and the consternation they caused the Senator and his wife causes me to chuckle again and again.
Comedies do not get much better than "The Birdcage". You will thoroughly like it!
