Review of The Birdcage (1996) by Critic M — 28 Aug 2014
The first film I watched since the great Robin Williams tragic passing. What a talented actor and comedic mind! He left some great work behind and left a very positive mark on this world.
"The Birdcage" is downright funny. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane compliment each other remarkably well and play off each other successfully. The story is of a gay nightclub owner who must pretend to be straight and everything he is not for a favor to his son who is engaged to the daughter of a well known conservative politician. Things spiral out of control and silly situations arise.
This is a very funny film with a great cast. A must see for any Robin Williams fan.
