I'm sure most of the users and critics are not birders as they do not understand the hobby and ultimately the greatness behind the movie. Of course I feel the movie is aimed at a specific audience.
I mean finally a movie about birding! As a frequent birder I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would gladly recommend this movie to my fellow birders.
