Review of The Big Year (2011) by Jacob D — 17 May 2012
This was a good movie....But I don't like the idea that this tries to condemn the life of Bostick just because he wanted to be the greatest birder of all time.....with out paying much attention to everything else. Bostick's attitude is pretty much debatable as to whether his decisions were right or wrong...In my opinion he was part wrong but he had his reasons. And the movie just doesn't justify the sacrifices ..instead they condemn it. They should have given his achievement some reward...
I do get what the movie's being trying to say....That you have to make your personal life as important as the one you live enjoying birding... But let's not forget that both Brad and Stu got a lot of support from their family but Bostick didn't...So he can't be the bad guy here...The script doesn't appreciate Bostick's effort.
The flow is awesome..but I don't like the finish.
