Review of The Big Year (2011) by Lam H — 30 Aug 2012

This is not a gut buster, but you will laugh. You will also, if you are human and love nature, appreciate this film. If you've ever set a goal, been discouraged and then moved forward and grew from experience you will love this movie. I did.

I think that we've become so accustomed to CGI, 3D and non stop action that a real movie about real things is labeled as boring and trite. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The birds of course aren't the real story here, the life in between is. And that's the point. That not everyone is out to sabotage you, and the friends you meet along the way really are genuine. There are some people that will go to the ends to win, but do they really?

Excellent cast, and I did LOL at the helicopter scene.
