Review of The Big White (2005) by Marc B — 13 Dec 2006
Like an alternatake take of 'Fargo', this appealing story seems just a little too layered for it's own good. Great performances all round can't plug the holes in the script where the viewers assume more than they are told in a plot just not tight enough to find this forgiving.
Holly Hunter's tourette's sufferer is the most baffling inclusion and it's here again the audience have to assume again if it's a chareciture or genuine, something the film-makers themselves can't fully resolve.
With tighter plotting this could've worked. As is, it's a decent but forgetable film.
