Review of The Big Wedding (2013) by Scott A — 03 May 2013

Despite the poster hanging by the Men's room at my local theater, I never saw one second of this movie before it started...never saw a trailer or a TV spot. So with the cast of whose who in the 'chick' flick genre, I figured it would be some PG rated fluff.

Right from the start, DeNiro starts going on and on about going down on Sarandon, and the vile insults Heigl started flinging at Grace and DeNiro...well I knew this had to be rated R. Add in the sexy Spanish sister dropping her clothes shortly after.

I think that all actually helps this film. It would have been quite bland if not for all the snark. Everyone in the cast gets a moment to shine, but oddly the only one playing it straight is Robin Williams!!

I will admit the end does turn into a cliched fest, but the film is very funny and I'm a sucker for anything with Heigl and Seyfried...and this has both!
