Review of The Big Wedding (2013) by Kathy F — 05 Jun 2013
There is something slightly depressing seeing once great actors making such middle of the road drivel. This is true for the central trio of De Niro, Keaton and Sarandon. The problem is, for De Niro in particular, such instances aren't even surprising anymore.
I remember laughing twice during The Big Wedding. The film seems to want to be more than a straight comedy but any attempts at drama feel hackneyed and insincere and eventually give way to the farcical comedy.
This isn't as bad as the 7% rating on the Tomato-meter might suggest but it does stink of a bunch of actors picking up a pay check.
