The successes of the film hinge on star power involved, but it attempts to create an over-complicated plot to achieve some sense of a farce, but just ends up hindering the credibility of characters and their relationships and consequently ruining any sense of empathy towards the characters.

If you're trying to create a farce film and Robin Williams is a part of the cast, don't tell him to pull back.
