Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Dan C — 14 Dec 2007
Famously, Hawks contacted Chandler seeking clarification on a critical plot point in the novel, but Chandler was as confused by the plot as he. Like the books, the plot don't don't matter a damn in what is inarguably a great noir, but perhaps a little too understandably spellbound by the chemistry between the stars to be a great Chandler adaptation.
