Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Luis Angel G — 27 May 2008
The plot is thicker than an elephant's arse yet this black-and-white masterpiece shines thanks to the presence of one single man. You can't argue against Bogie's charm. He is the ultimate film noir icon, and the highest authority when it comes to hard-boiled detectives.
And that Lauran Bacall ain't bad either!
