Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Manny C — 12 Aug 2008
Golden age Hollywood. The dialogue is superb. Humphrey Bogart showing why he is so well regarded, the man is just memorizing as the Private Detective hired to sort out a simple Blackmail case... Of course it never is that simple.
It's not long before it turns into Homicides and double crosses. Perfect film noir from Director Howard Hawks.
