So convoluted that even in the recently issued director's cut it is not possible to determine a guilty party for every murder.
A-ha. Finally got around to reading the book. Faulkner had his work cut out for him to tell a story while casually omitting all of the pornography and non-hetero plot lines of Chandler's work.
