Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Silas P — 20 Apr 2009
A great detective novel by Chandler and a fine film version make this a gem of a movie. Bogart plays his now characteristic tough private detective but its the performance by the 22 year old Bacall that adds the chemistry that makes this superb.
No remake could ever improve upon such a sterling production.
