Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Ravi S — 07 Nov 2009
One of my favorite Howard Hawks films.
The plot maybe convoluted, but that doesn't take away from the great performances and Hawks' trademarked style. In fact, Hawks' approach to this film is my favorite aspect of it. The original Anti-film noir, before Altman's The Long Goodbye. A great adaptation of Chandler's detective classic too.
