Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Edgar C — 09 Mar 2010
Mistaken identities always seduced the interest and thrilling suspense of the Golden Age audience. Howard Hawks and Humphrey Bogart at the top of their game, stares, guns, shadows, deceit and femme fatales were the dish of the day in what is a masterful, American black-and-white spectacle. Magnificent achievement and a milestone in the genre.
99/100.
