Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Raya P — 28 Jan 2011
Although notoriously riddled with plot and terribly hard to follow (and even the director has admitted this) it's hard not to get caught up as Bogie and Bacall just steam up the screen giving off ridiculous chemistry while rapidly bkurting out amazing dialogue.
This is after all, by the same director of His Girl Friday, one of the more amazing comedies ever put out. Hard to follow, but ridiculously fun on all levels, this is one that you can't miss.
