Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Maritza D — 21 Apr 2011
Stylish, but empty. Plot is confusing, and random at times.
Bogie is his typical mumbling wise-cracking self. Lauren Bacall provides the class and beauty, though there are a host of beautiful women in the cast - Dorothy Malone, Martha Vickers, Sonia Darrin - to give her competition. Even the taxi drivers are gorgeous women. Clearly nobody was ugly in 1946!
