As I watched, I was confused. I even stopped midway through to read a synopsis online and that really didn't help. Once the movie was over, I did a little more research and discovered that director Howard Hawks asked Raymond Chandler the author of the original novel to clear certain points of the story up before filming began, and even Chandler couldn't describe the story fully.
People talk about how chemistry between Bogart and Bacall as well as the funny lines throughout make this a good movie, but personally, as someone who enjoys movies for their stories, I found this convoluted film a dud.
