Review of The Big Sick (2017) by Ravissary79 . — 16 Sep 2017
An original, realistic dramedy/rom-com. It's heavier on the drama than the laughs or the romance, but it's heart is sincere, it's subject is novel and human. It feels true and free of cliches, just real people with real intercultural relationship issues without judgment or preachiness.
See it if you like the genre and want something true and different.
I'm genuinely impressed that the film managed such self critical honesty without retreading Hollywood romantic roleplay.
