Review of The Big Short (2015) by Tball — 11 Jul 2016
This is a film that critics think you should like and convince themselves that they loved. In reality, it comes close to sucking completely. Except for a couple of decent performances, it does suck completely.
There is no actual suspense since, like Apollo 13, you already know what happened. The cool dudes who were ahead of the curve are no more honest or decent than those the film is attacking. It takes its outrage out on Wall St.
And only peripherally includes how dishonest the Democrats who shamefully and cynically created the sub prime mortgage problem and the bankers (Republicans) who, along with Hillary's buddies, gleefully profited from them.
The sound in this movie is horrible, going from an overly loud rap and metal soundtrack to barely audible conversations. If you're watching it at home, keep the remote close. This movie is a smug failure.
