Review of The Big Short (2015) by David B — 27 Jun 2016
There are two kinds of films I hate:
- films that are bad but don't try to be smart (Twilight, 50 Shades, Adam Sandler films);.
- and films that are bad because they think they're smart.
"The Big Short" is the later. It's pretentious, way too long and it bores you to death with financial jargon that's explained in completely random cut scenes. It doesn't offer you any compelling motive to watch it and instead of making viewers aware of the real consequences of the crisis of 2008, it just contributes to the detachment of people from economics.
