Review of The Big Risk (1960) by Antti K — 10 Apr 2009
An exiled criminal is trying to return to France with his family to begin a new life. The semi-hardboiled, documentary-like story is lacking only at the ending which might have been dictated by the censors.
It is a bit hard to take J-P Belmondo seriously in his role as a hard fisted criminal. Brilliant cinematography - I probably have never seen such sharp picture in a movie theater before and this was shot in 1959!
