French adaptation of Douglas Kennedy's (no, I hadnt heard of him either) thriller. High flying lawyer's life is thrown into turmoil when he accidentally kills his wife's lover, but this gives him the opportunity to flee and be the successful photographer that he always wanted to be.
To enjoy this film, you have to forgive the flimsy plot and concentrate instead on the acting, which is top drawer. Lovely cameo turn from Catherine Deneuve but the star of the show is Romain Durris, who gives a captivating performance as the frustrated/liberated lawyer.
I cant remember the last time I saw someone portray panic and despair so convincingly. Very sudden and abrupt ending, however, disappoints.
