Review of The Big One (1997) by Eric N — 05 Jan 2011
This movie doesn't really cover any new ground. It showcases Michael Moore's book tour promoting his book Downsize This! Random Threats from an Unarmed American, and the movie recycles a lot of the jokes he used in that book (which is one of his less good books, if you ask me).
Along the way he takes side trips to meet with displaced workers and harass corporate honchos. There were a couple of funny (original) jokes, but to my dismay Michael Moore largely focuses on evil CEOs and avoids discussing politics, other than to comment on how low the turnout in the 1996 presidential election was.
That was a disappointment.
