Review of The Big Lebowski (1998) by Richard C — 28 Nov 2012
The best of the Coen Brothers filmography, and there are a lot of classics from them, The Big Lebowski is pure escapist fun. Picture-perfect casting and utterly memorable performances from Jeff Bridges and John Goodman, a laugh-a-minute script and a ingenious blend of suspense thriller, trippy surrealism and razor-sharp wit-filled comedy are just some of the highlights of this masterpiece that easily belongs in any film fans all-time favorite films.
Easily a film to cherish and view as many times as can be possibly done with the same enthusiasm of each previous viewing, The Big Lebowski will go down as one of a handful of films to get a personal 10/10 rating from a first viewing.
An instant classic that stands as one of the best films that a filmmaker can make.
