Review of The Big Lebowski (1998) by Matt M — 12 Jan 2013
One of the rare instances where dialogue is more important than the plot itself. The Coen brothers, much like in Fargo, once again tell a violent story in a bitingly funny and colourful way, this time with more emphasis on character and dialogue than plot and structure.
The result is less complete but still very entertaining and genuinely funny, with memorable performances by the cast, especially Bridges as the White Russian drinking lazy sleaze-ball otherwise known as The Dude and his almost schizoid friend John Goodman.
