Review of The Big Lebowski (1998) by Mark M — 20 Mar 2013
The grooviest, dudeist, most far out, most beloved cult film of all time!
Yah... and "that's just like your opinion man".
The Big Lebowski is a film that seems to require multiple viewings to unveil it's brilliance to most of us. With each successive viewing of this charmer of a film it reveals it's subtle genius while revealing another layer of it's quirky comedic bliss.
The Big Lebowski is a unique and special film that gets better the more times you have the pleasure of viewing it & the more you view it the funnier it gets.
Jeff Bridges delivers his best performance ever in this role. "I'm the Dude, so that's what you call me. That or his Dudeness... or Duder..or ah ... you know, El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing." Bridges comedic genius is as good as you will see ever.
The script is an absolute work of genius and the cast is stellar across the board with each one of them turning in some of the most memorable performances caught on film.
The Big Lebowski is one of the most quoted films of this generation and has become it's biggest cult film.
What a pure joy to see a work of genius such as this one!
