Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Rosaria D — 13 Oct 2007
The term 'gritty' could have been invented just for this film! For 1953, this is definitely a shocker, portraying violence as never before dared in Hollywood films. Class acting by Ford as the squeaky clean cop who is quickly turned into a revenge seeking, cold hearted vigilante, intent on bringing down the mobsters who killed his wife.
