Review of The Big Heat (1953) by Zayne R — 04 Jun 2008
A shockingly dark and violent hard-boiled yarn that easily ranks among Lang's best Hollywood films. Glen Ford's honest, clever, and completely reckless cop is certainly among the more subversive characters to slip past the Hays Production Code.
Also, I think it's safe to say that Lee Marvin and Gloria Grahame are the definitive "Gangster and his Moll" pair.
